JUST IN: CNG Vehicle Explosion Rocks NIPCO Station in Benin, Several Injured (Video)
An explosion occurred today at a NIPCO filling station in Benin, where a CNG-powered vehicle erupted, leaving several people injured. Eyewitness videos shared on social media reveal the vehicle’s trunk was completely shattered, with debris scattered across the area. The chaos that followed saw bystanders rushing to aid the injured.
Emergency responders have since arrived at the scene, and those hurt have been transported to hospitals for treatment.
This incident has reignited concerns over the safety of converting petrol-powered vehicles to run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), a policy strongly advocated by the Nigerian government.
