JUST IN: Bandits Unleash Terror in Zamfara: Seven Policemen, Four Civilians Killed
Armed bandits descended on the Magarya community in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, leaving eleven people dead, including seven mobile police officers and four civilians.
The violent assault, confirmed by DAILY POST, saw the destruction of three cars, one of which belonged to the district head of Magarya. The district head is the brother of Nasir Magarya, the former speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly. The attack extended to the former speaker’s residence, where furniture in the parlour was set ablaze.
Witnesses reported significant damage to local infrastructure, including the burning of Magarya Model Primary School. Many residents sustained injuries of varying degrees during the attack.
Efforts to reach the State Police Command’s spokesman, ASP Yazid Abubakar, for an official statement were unsuccessful at the time of this report.
