Joe Igbokwe Warns Sowore: “Run Away from Nnamdi Kanu, He’s Southeast’s Problem”

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has issued a strong warning to activist and politician Omoyele Sowore over his call for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

In a lengthy Facebook post titled “Final Warning to Omoyele Sowore,” Igbokwe cautioned the Sahara Reporters publisher against involving himself in Kanu’s case, describing the IPOB leader as *“the butcher of the Southeast.”

According to Igbokwe, Kanu and his followers turned the Southeast into a “killing field” over the past decade. He claimed that thousands of lives were lost during the height of IPOB’s agitation, and that the region is still struggling to recover from the violence and instability.

“Omoyele Sowore says he is marching to Aso Rock to protest the detention of the butcher of the Southeast called Nnamdi Kanu,” Igbokwe wrote. “I have told him as a friend to run 440. I even alerted his brother, Barrister Allen Sowore, to tell Omoyele to stay away from Nnamdi Kanu’s matter because it’s bigger than him.”

The APC stalwart accused Kanu of leading a movement that set back the Igbo nation “by 50 years,” eroding the region’s dignity, respect, and sense of unity.

“We lost respect, honor, integrity, and wisdom,” he lamented. “We went to sleep and children, led by the empty head called Nnamdi Kanu, dragged Igbo land into a terrible mess that will take years to clean up.”

Igbokwe, who hails from Nnewi in Anambra State, also claimed to be a personal victim of the violence allegedly perpetrated by IPOB members.

In his closing remarks, he urged Sowore and others from outside the Southeast to avoid getting involved in what he called “a senseless and bloody matter.”

“Sowore, run away from Southeast issues,” Igbokwe warned. “You know nothing about what Nnamdi Kanu did here. Do your due diligence before joining this senseless mission. The road leads to nowhere.”

Igbokwe’s comments come amid renewed calls by Sowore and other activists for Kanu’s release, as his prolonged detention continues to generate political and legal controversy.
