“I will enter Big Brother Naija next year,” says Chidimma Adetshina
Chidimma Adetshina, the former Miss South Africa contestant, has disclosed her intention to join the upcoming season of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) in 2025.
BBNaija, Nigeria’s premier reality TV show, is currently airing its ninth season. Adetshina, born in 2001 in Soweto’s Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, has a diverse background with an Igbo father and a Mozambican mother who later became a South African citizen.
Her participation in Miss South Africa was met with controversy due to her nationality, leading to significant backlash on social media. The debate prompted an investigation by the South African Ministry of Home Affairs, resulting in her withdrawal from the pageant.
Recently, Adetshina accepted an invitation to compete in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant, which began on August 23, with the finale scheduled for August 31. The winner will go on to represent Nigeria at the 73rd Miss Universe pageant in Mexico on November 16.
In an interview with Cool FM, Adetshina expressed her eagerness to participate in BBNaija next year, stating, “If I can stay away for seven weeks at Miss SA, I am sure I can handle BBNaija.” She also shared her emotional struggles related to the Miss SA controversy, revealing that the experience was challenging but has fostered a positive outlook.
