“I Swear on My Life, Gambaryan Is Lying – I Have Known Ribadu My Entire Life, Says Ben Bruce”
Ben Murray-Bruce has come to the defense of Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, following allegations of bribery made by Tigran Gambaryan, a Binance executive. The Nigerian businessman and politician dismissed Gambaryan’s claims and called for him to undergo a lie detector test.
Gambaryan, who serves as the head of financial crime at Binance, accused Ribadu of attempting to personally profit from Nigeria’s dispute with the cryptocurrency company. In a series of tweets on Friday, he alleged that Ribadu had sought billions in payouts to finance his future political ambitions. He further claimed that Ribadu hired a U.S. law firm to negotiate his release from Nigerian custody, but the effort failed due to what he described as the firm’s “incompetence and greed.”
Responding to the accusations, Murray-Bruce strongly defended Ribadu’s integrity, asserting that he has known the National Security Adviser for years and is confident he is incapable of such misconduct. Expressing frustration over what he sees as false accusations tarnishing Nigeria’s reputation, he called on Gambaryan to take a polygraph test in a neutral country, excluding both Nigeria and the United States, to substantiate his claims.
“I challenge Tigran Gambaryan to undergo a lie detector test if he genuinely believes the claims he has made. It is exhausting to witness individuals repeatedly dragging Nigeria’s name through the mud with baseless accusations and fabricated evidence,” Murray-Bruce stated.
He went further, suggesting that Gambaryan was fortunate to have been allowed to leave Nigeria. According to him, had Ribadu had his way, the Binance executive would have remained behind bars for years. He also insisted that Gambaryan should begin preparing a public apology for what he sees as false allegations against the Nigerian government.
“@TigranGambaryan should consider himself fortunate to have been allowed to leave because if Nuhu had his way, I am supremely confident he would have ensured that he remained behind bars for a hundred years. I swear on my life—Girma is lying, and I demand that @TigranGambaryan submit to a lie detector test in a neutral country, excluding both the United States and Nigeria” he tweeted.
