“I Don’t Believe in God” Kemi Badenoch Opens Up About Her Faith
Kemi Badenoch, the leader of the British Conservative Party, has sparked widespread discussion following revelations about her faith. In a recent interview with Free Press, Badenoch disclosed that she no longer believes in God, a statement that has since gone viral.
Born Kemi Adegoke, the politician, who adopted her current surname after marrying a Scottish banker, clarified that her stance does not make her an atheist. Instead, she identifies as agnostic and describes herself as a “cultural Christian.”
“I don’t believe in God anymore,” she said during the interview. “But I am not an atheist, I am agnostic. I used to believe in God very much but now I describe myself as a cultural Christian.”
Badenoch emphasized that the significance of belief lies not in its presence or absence but in the actions and values it inspires in individuals. “I don’t think it matters if people believe in God or not. What matters is what they do with the belief or the lack of it,” she remarked.
