How Chuba Okadigbo Foretold Tinubu’s Rise to Nigerian Presidency — Olusi

 

Prince Tajudeen Olusi, Chairman of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) in Lagos State, has recounted how the late Senate President Chuba Okadigbo once expressed confidence that Bola Tinubu would eventually lead Nigeria.

 

Olusi made the remarks on Wednesday during the inauguration of the Ojota–Opebi Link Bridge, alongside the E-GIS project and the Alausa Complex in Lagos.

 

According to him, the moment dates back to 1992, when Tinubu withdrew from the contest for Senate President in favour of Okadigbo and Iyorchia Ayu. He said Okadigbo later expressed that Tinubu would still rise to the country’s highest political office.

 

Olusi added that Tinubu’s political trajectory began in Ikeja, noting that early discussions had considered Lagos Island as a starting point. He said Tinubu’s emergence in national politics followed his time in the Senate and other political engagements.

 

He also referenced another account involving Otunba Bola Adewunmi, a former local government chairman in Somolu who later became a cleric, claiming he had conveyed a similar message after what he described as a spiritual experience.

 

Olusi said the developments he witnessed over the years reinforced his belief that Tinubu’s rise to the presidency had long been anticipated by several individuals within their political circle.
