Gunmen attack convoy of Plateau State lawmaker, kill two
Gunmen suspected to be terrorists on Tuesday night ambushed convoy of newly elected member representating Jos North-Bassa Federal Constituency, Musa Agah.
The federal lawmaker and his aides were said to be returning home from a thank you tour at about 9pm when the incident occurred along Twin Hill Miango, in Bassa Local Government area of Plateau State, North-Central Nigeria.
Confirming the incident to ait.live, personal assistant to the lawmaker, Moses Maly, who was in the same car with him when the incident occurred said the legislator’s wife and two kids were also together but all escaped while his car was shattered with bullets.
Maly said two persons who were on motorcycle including the PDP Ward Party Chairman and Woman Leader who were ahead of the convoy first encountered the gunmen and were killed in the ambush.
Musa Agah was recently sworn-in as member representating Jos North-Bassa Federal Constituency following his victory at February 26 bye-election.
The Police could not be reach as at the time of filling in this report.
