Gunmen Abduct Another Catholic Priest in Midnight Raid
A Catholic priest, Rev. Father Ibrahim Amos, was abducted by suspected Gunmen in the early hours of Thursday, April 24, from his residence in Kurmin Risga, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The incident occurred around 12:15 a.m. at St. Gerald Quasi Parish, where the priest served.
The Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan confirmed the abduction in a statement issued by its Chancellor, Rev. Father Jacob Shanet. Describing the incident as deeply distressing, Shanet called on the public to offer prayers for the safe return of the cleric. He urged residents to remain calm and to refrain from taking the law into their own hands, assuring that all legitimate efforts were being made to secure the priest’s release.
As of the time of this report, attempts to reach the spokesperson of the Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Mansir Hassan, were unsuccessful, as calls to his phone went unanswered.
