Governor Otti: ‘We’ve Started Getting Very Credible Information’ on Soldiers’ Killing
Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has affirmed that the state government is receiving credible intelligence regarding the recent killing of five soldiers in Aba on May 30th.
Governor Otti conveyed this information during a morale-boosting visit to the officers and personnel of the 144 Battalion, Nigerian Army, at Ngwa High School, Aba.
The tragic incident, where unidentified gunmen took the lives of five soldiers at the Obikabia Junction in Aba, prompted Governor Otti’s visit to address the soldiers directly.
Governor Otti emphasized that the government’s efforts to gather intelligence on the matter are yielding results and will be sustained.
“We have started getting very credible information; this intelligence gathering will continue, but I do not want it to dampen your morale,” Otti assured the soldiers.
He further asserted that the perpetrators of this criminal act, likely individuals opposed to the progress of Abia, will be apprehended.
Acknowledging the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding citizens, Otti praised their contributions to maintaining peace and security in Abia.
Despite the tragedy, Otti urged the soldiers to remain vigilant and resolute in their duties, ensuring that the loss of their comrades does not weaken their resolve.
