Fubara Warns Appointees Against Holding Unauthorized Meetings
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has cautioned political office holders against convening meetings without his approval, stating that any violation could lead to dismissal.
The governor issued the warning on Thursday during the swearing-in of the new Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Dagogo Wokoma, and the new Chief of Staff, Barrister Sunny Ewule. The ceremony took place at the Executive Council Chamber of Government House in Port Harcourt.
Fubara said the appointments were made to strengthen the administration’s development drive and improve governance, not to fuel internal divisions or advance personal political interests.
He emphasized that all officials must operate within established procedures and remain focused on delivering results for residents of the state.
The governor also directed Permanent Secretaries nearing retirement to begin preparing their handover notes, underscoring the need for orderly transitions across ministries and departments.
