First Lady Remi Tinubu Donates Seven Buses to CAN Youth Wing
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated seven hybrid 14-seater buses to the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), reaffirming the federal government’s support for youth development and Christian ministry efforts. The donation was made during a ceremony at the State House in Abuja, coinciding with the second anniversary of the Tinubu administration.
Addressing the gathering, Senator Tinubu, who also serves as the National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), encouraged the youth to remain steadfast in faith, work diligently, and stay committed to truth and uprightness. She urged them to use the vehicles to support their evangelism and community outreach, emphasizing that love must be demonstrated through giving.
“You can’t love without giving, so anytime we profess love to people, we should be able to back it up with giving,” she said. “As you have chosen Christ, you should be good followers of Christ indeed, always embrace truth and do what is right and pleasing before God.”
She added that the donation was part of a broader effort to celebrate the administration’s anniversary by giving back to those serving God and supporting national values. “On behalf of RHI, and due to our love for you as our children, because we believe you’ll all be achievers in this nation, we hand over these vehicles to you,” she stated.
Receiving the buses on behalf of the youth, National Chairman of YOWICAN, Michael Enwere Belosochukwu, expressed deep gratitude to the First Lady and the Renewed Hope Initiative. He noted that the vehicles would significantly enhance the group’s operations, particularly during evangelism and other ministry activities.
“These buses you donated to our organisation would help to ameliorate the work and operations of our organisation’s activities. On behalf of YOWICAN nationwide, and the entire youth, we want to say a big thank you to our mother for her generosity and kind heart,” he said.
The buses are designated for YOWICAN branches across the six geopolitical zones and the National Secretariat. The event was attended by notable dignitaries including Hajia Nana Shettima, wife of the Vice President and National Vice Chairman of RHI; Barr. Chioma Uzodimma, wife of the Imo State Governor and National Secretary of RHI; and Bishop S.T.V Adegbite, Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission.
