#EndSARS Protests: Lagos PDP condemns in clear terms the Killing of Youths.
The People’s Democratic Party PDP Lagos State Chapter ably led by Engr Adedeji Doherty have condemned in very clear terms the Quantum Genocide that took place at Lekki toll gate, Mushin and some other parts of the nation yesterday.
These acts across the nation have finally shown the insensitivity of the APC led government of the day to the plight of the Nigerian Youths and their negative approach to constructive criticism.
The Lagos State PDP would like to state categorically that this act of treachery, connivance and oppression negates all international standards as it concerns human rights and freedom of speech/expression.
Suffice to state that the Nigerian Constitution frowns at all acts that infringe on human rights.
The Nigerian Youths had spoken and had listed their demands for a better life and a more secured future.
It is the responsibility of any reasonable government with a human face to have found a better way of engaging the Youths with a view to bringing them to the negotiating table rather than committing this dastardly act of “Genocide”.
This is the time for the Police and indeed the Military to go back to their barracks, while the Federal Government empowers the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to take their rightful place which should be to protect civilians at a time like this.
We hereby call on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to have a rethink as it concerns the 24 hour curfew imposed on Lagosians and address the youths through the well established media vehicles available to him as the Governor of Lagos State.
We indeed expect the occurrence of 20-10-2020 to be probed immediately as this dastardly act should not go without investigation or the necessary consequences.
We would like to see the United Nations, the OAU , and ECOWAS take the situation in Nigeria and most especially Lagos State seriously as this could degenerate into a full blown crisis if not nipped in the bud early.
We however use this opportunity to commiserate with the families of our brothers and sisters who were affected by this bloody and dastardly act and pray that it never happens again.
May the souls of all the departed continue to rest in perfect peace. Amen.
Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria
Long Live the People’s Democratic Party

Engr Adedeji Doherty
