Emeka Offor Foundation Donates N200 Million to Borno Flood Victims
The Sir Emeka Offor Foundation (SEOF) has generously donated N200 million to the Borno State government to support flood victims in Maiduguri, following the collapse of the Alau Dam along the Ngadda River. This devastating flood has left many in dire need of assistance.
The donation was made public through a statement released on Saturday after a high-level commiseration visit to the Borno State Government in Maiduguri. In addition to the N200 million cash support, SEOF also donated essential items, including Maama Kits and 20 Midwifery kits valued at N38 million, to aid in healthcare delivery for affected families.
Leading the SEOF delegation was retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Chris Ezike, who joined forces with Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, on the sympathy visit. The visit allowed the delegation to witness firsthand the scale of the disaster and the immediate needs of the affected population.
“The Sir Emeka Offor Foundation has consistently demonstrated its commitment to empowering the vulnerable and less privileged. This significant donation reflects our deep dedication to humanitarian causes,” Ezike said. “We stand in solidarity with the people of Borno during this challenging time, and we are determined to ensure that our support reaches those who need it most.”
Governor Soludo expressed his profound sympathy for the people of Borno, emphasizing the importance of unity in times of crisis. “The resilience of the Borno people is truly remarkable. Though this natural disaster tests our strength, I believe that with support from across the country, Borno will not only recover but emerge stronger.”
During their visit, the delegation also paid respects at the Palace of the Shehu of Borno and visited the Bakasi Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp, one of the largest in the state.
