El-Rufai attributes insecurity in North to existing police line of Command
Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, while condemning the attack on the rice farmers assassinated in Zabarmari, disclosed that northern leaders are at a loss of what to do.
According to him, the Commissioner of Police does not report to him neither are they appointed by state governors. This he claims is a huge impediment in taking control of the security crisis currently plaguing northern Nigeria.
The northern states such as Borno, Adamawa, and Kaduna have suffered streaks of violence mostly from Insurgency. The insurgency has cost the nation years in terms of development, loss of human resources and left in its wake destruction on each occasion.
The most recent killings were the massacre of as many as 43 farmers in the Zabarmari and they were buried over the weekend. The misfortune is the latest in a spate of killings that is largely responsible for Nigeria’s current rank as third on the Global Terrorism Index.
