Delta Pastor Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault and Rape of Church Members, Including Three Sisters
The Delta State Police Command has arrested Pastor Daniel Ololo of Omega Prophetic Prayer Ministry in Sapele over serious allegations of rape, defilement, and sexual assault involving multiple female church members, including three sisters. The arrest follows a petition filed against him by victims and concerned parties.
Police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe said in a statement on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, that the pastor was apprehended at his church premises after investigations confirmed the allegations. “On the 13th of October 2025, the command received a complaint via petition against a pastor of Omega Prophetic Prayer Ministry, based in Sapele, on allegations of defilement, rape, and sexual assault. On the strength of this petition, the Commissioner of Police directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to investigate,” he stated.
According to Edafe, investigations revealed that Pastor Ololo allegedly manipulated vulnerable church members using fake prophecies. Victims were coerced into believing that sexual relations with him were necessary for their spiritual deliverance. “Investigation revealed that the pastor allegedly used fake prophecy to lure vulnerable church members to his church office and coerce them into believing that if he did not have sexual relations with them, they would not be delivered,” Edafe explained.
Further investigation uncovered that three of the victims are sisters and members of his church, while another victim is a 17-year-old girl. “Further investigation revealed that he had canal knowledge of three sisters of the same mother who are his church members, and the last victim is aged 17 years,” Edafe added.
Pastor Ololo is currently in police custody, and the Delta State Police Command confirmed that investigations are ongoing. Authorities have urged anyone with additional information to come forward to assist in the case.
This arrest has sparked outrage in the community, with local residents expressing shock at the allegations against a religious leader. One community member, who requested anonymity, said, “It is heartbreaking that someone entrusted with spiritual guidance could exploit and harm vulnerable members of the congregation. We hope justice will be served.”
The Delta State Police have assured the public that the case will be thoroughly investigated and that perpetrators of such crimes will be held accountable under the law.
