Delta Assembly Ex-Candidate Harrison Gwamnishu Exits Labour Party, Cites Reasons

Harrison Gwamnishu, former candidate for the Delta State House of Assembly representing Aniocha South State Constituency, has resigned from the Labour Party. Gwamnishu made this announcement through a statement titled “My Resignation from Labour Party,” citing allegations of betrayal during the 2023 general elections as the catalyst for his decision.

Gwamnishu strongly denied these allegations, asserting his commitment to the party during his campaign. He emphasized his readiness to cooperate with any investigations to clear his name. “I categorically deny the accusations against me and am fully prepared to cooperate with any investigations to clear my name,” Gwamnishu stated.

In his resignation letter, Gwamnishu expressed regret over the situation, explaining that the accusations, which were propagated by the Aniocha South Local Government Area Labour Party Executive, have compelled him to step down to protect his reputation and integrity. He noted that his campaign efforts were dedicated to promoting the party’s interests across Aniocha South LGA.

Despite his departure, Gwamnishu conveyed his gratitude to notable figures within the party, including Mr. Peter Obi and Chief Anthony Ezeagu, for their inspiration and support. He concluded by wishing the Labour Party continued success in its future endeavors.
