Certificate Saga: Individuals Under EFCC Investigation are Holding Positions in Tinubu’s Cabinet – Chidoka Alleges
Former Minister of Aviation, Mr. Osita Chidoka, has made allegations suggesting that individuals currently under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) are holding positions within the cabinet of President Bola Tinubu. Mr. Chidoka, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), brought these allegations to light in a statement he issued on Sunday.
The former minister’s statement also criticized President Tinubu for appointing a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) as a minister. The controversy revolves around the appointment of Hannatu Musawa as the Minister of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy, as she was reportedly still fulfilling her one-year compulsory NYSC service when appointed to this position.
Mr. Chidoka’s comments came in response to a recent order issued by a United States Court directing the Chicago State University to release President Bola Tinubu’s academic records to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 election.
Expressing his concerns, the former Minister stated, “That all the aforementioned institutions allowed a man to be sworn in without definitive statements about his qualifications is a national tragedy. For 23 years, the issue of President Tinubu has been a recurring decimal in our national equation. Under his reign, a current youth corps member is serving as Minister, and people under investigation by EFCC and made public are sitting in the Federal Executive Council. And they all passed through security screening.”
These allegations and the ongoing legal battle over President Tinubu’s academic records continue to generate significant attention and debate within Nigerian politics. The situation remains fluid, and further developments are expected in the days ahead.
