Car Thief Breaches Kano Government House, Steals Deputy Governor’s Convoy Vehicle

In a daring security breach early Monday morning, a car thief slipped into the Kano Government House and made away with a Toyota Hilux belonging to the deputy governor’s convoy. The incident occurred around 5 a.m., with the intruder reportedly gaining entry through Gate 4 before driving the vehicle out through the main exit unnoticed.

According to sources, CCTV footage later reviewed by security officers captured the suspect leaving the premises without resistance. Insiders revealed that the deputy governor’s office area is typically guarded only during working hours or when he is present, leaving it vulnerable during off-peak times.

The driver of the stolen vehicle, identified as Shafiu Sharp-Sharp, was questioned and briefly detained as part of an ongoing investigation. Security officials have since launched a manhunt for the suspect, distributing details of the missing vehicle to law enforcement agencies across the state.

Efforts to reach Governor Abba Yusuf’s spokesman, Sanusi Dawakin Tofa, for comment were unsuccessful at the time of this report.
