Bashir Ahmad Needs Psychiatric Evaluation – MNK’s Brother
Kanunta Kanu, the brother of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu, has criticized Bashir Ahmad, a former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, suggesting that he needs psychiatric evaluation.
Kanunta’s remarks came in response to Ahmad’s statement that anyone advocating for the release of Nnamdi Kanu is an enemy of Nigeria. Ahmad had reportedly said he would only support Kanu’s release if the IPOB leader underwent rehabilitation and renounced his alleged derogatory views about Nigeria.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Kanunta dismissed Ahmad’s stance, arguing that his brother’s messages have been consistent and that many of his statements about Nigeria’s governance and marginalization of the Igbo people have proven true. He questioned what exactly Ahmad wanted Kanu to renounce, citing issues such as corruption and ethnic discrimination.
Kanunta further attacked Ahmad’s credibility, accusing him of failing to combat terrorism in northern Nigeria during his time in government and being part of what he described as the worst administration in the country’s history. He asked whether Ahmad felt any shame for the alleged damage caused under Buhari’s leadership.
