Atiku Returns to Jada to Collect ADC Membership Card Amid Warm Reception
Atiku Abubakar travelled to his hometown of Jada in Adamawa State on Monday to pick up his African Democratic Congress (ADC) membership card, drawing a lively show of support as residents lined the streets to welcome him.
Videos from the visit captured his convoy entering the town to cheers, drumbeats and songs. Many supporters held placards with his image and messages such as “Welcome Daddy,” while Atiku waved from his vehicle.
His move to the ADC had been signalled a day earlier during a meeting with the party’s leadership in Yola, where he described the ADC as the platform for what he called a new political movement. Addressing supporters, he noted that he would be formally joining the party on Monday and asked if they were ready to receive him, prompting a loud affirmation from the crowd.
He expressed hope that the day would mark the beginning of a new chapter for his supporters in Adamawa and across Nigeria.
