Businessman Isaac Fayose has reacted strongly to comments made by his elder brother, Ayodele Fayose, over the recent abduction of pupils and teachers in Oyo State.
Ayodele Fayose, during an interview on Politics Today on Channels Television, alleged that the kidnapping incident involving 46 schoolchildren and staff may have been politically influenced. He suggested it could be part of a strategy linked to the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, aimed at embarrassing President Bola Tinubu.
He also argued that state governments have access to security votes and should take primary responsibility for addressing local security challenges, rather than shifting blame to the federal government.
Reacting in a video shared on social media, Isaac Fayose dismissed the claim, describing it as unfounded and inconsistent. He questioned why similar reasoning was not applied to abductions recorded in other states governed by the All Progressives Congress, including Borno State, Niger State, and Kwara State.
He further referenced insecurity concerns in their home state, Ekiti State, noting that kidnapping incidents have also been reported there. Isaac Fayose concluded that public commentary without practical solutions to insecurity is unhelpful.
