President Donald Trump abruptly ended an interview with NBC's Kristen Welker after a heated exchange over his claims that U.S. elections have been rigged.
The confrontation took place during an appearance on *Meet the Press* in Wisconsin and has since gained attention online through widely shared video clips.
During the interview, Welker repeatedly asked Trump to provide evidence supporting his allegations of election fraud, including claims relating to the 2020 presidential election and California's recent primary elections.
Trump maintained that the elections were manipulated.
"The election was rigged. It was a dirty election. And it's happening again right now in California. They're cheating on the election," he said.
When Welker asked what evidence supported those claims, Trump replied: "All I have to do is look. All I have to do is listen, and I listen to people, and let's see what happens."
The discussion grew increasingly tense as Trump accused NBC and other major news organizations of bias.
"They're crooked just like you're crooked; your press is crooked. And *Meet the Press* is crooked," Trump said. "You're a one-sided crooked network."
He also criticized ABC, CBS and CNN, accusing them of unfair coverage.
As Welker continued to press for evidence, Trump responded: "You're either crooked, or you're stupid. Let's call it quits. Because I've had enough."
He then stood up and ended the interview.
Welker responded by noting that she had traveled to Wisconsin for the conversation.
Trump has repeatedly questioned the integrity of U.S. elections, citing affidavits, voting procedures, statistical patterns and delayed vote counts as reasons for his concerns.
However, election officials, independent reviews and court rulings have consistently found no evidence of widespread fraud that would have changed the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.
