The Nigeria Police Force has arrested two suspects in connection with a case involving conspiracy, kidnapping, armed robbery, and illegal possession of firearms in Kaduna State and nearby communities.

According to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Placid, the suspects—Yusuf Rabo and Musa Adamu—were taken into custody following investigations into the abduction of an elderly man, Alhaji Rabo Jelani.

Investigators said Yusuf Rabo allegedly worked with Musa Adamu and another suspect, Ali Haruna, who is currently on the run and identified as the victim’s grandson. The group is accused of planning and executing the abduction, reportedly targeting the victim over claims that he had significant wealth and livestock.

The police stated that the syndicate operated with multiple AK-47 rifles. One of the weapons was allegedly supplied by Ali Haruna, while others were sourced through additional members of the group. During the operation, one AK-47 rifle with an empty magazine was recovered.

Findings further revealed that the victim was abducted on more than one occasion and held in forest locations while ransom negotiations were conducted by Yusuf Rabo. The first incident reportedly led to a payment of ₦2 million, while a subsequent abduction resulted in ₦4.5 million being collected.

The investigation also links the suspects to other violent incidents in the region, including the kidnapping of a trader identified as Mr. Iyke and an armed robbery attack along the Kagoma axis, where commuters were robbed of cash and personal belongings.

The Nigeria Police Force continues efforts to arrest the fleeing suspect, Ali Haruna, and recover additional weapons believed to have been used in the operations.
