Celebrity businessman Pascal Okechukwu has spoken publicly after losing the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the House of Representatives seat covering Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency in Imo State.
Okechukwu, who is also the Imo State Coordinator of the City Boys Movement, polled 14 votes in the primary election, a result that ended his attempt to secure the party’s ticket.
The outcome quickly gained attention on social media, partly due to his visibility in nightlife promotion and his political alignment with President Bola Tinubu.
In a video circulating online, Okechukwu addressed the result and expressed disappointment over the process, particularly his relationship with local stakeholders involved in the contest.
“I’m a hustler, and I didn’t regret trying to contest for a position,” he said. “My only regret was trusting the elders in the community.”
He added, “I know how much I gave them, but only 14 people voted for me in the primary.”
The APC primary has continued to generate reactions, with observers pointing to the outcome as a reflection of the internal dynamics within the constituency’s party structure.
Okechukwu has not indicated his next political move following the defeat.
