As NDC members across the country prepare for tomorrow’s primary elections, party faithful in Idemili North and South must understand the weight of the decision before them. This is more than an internal party exercise. It is an opportunity to choose the person who will carry the hopes of the constituency into the 2027 general election and, ultimately, restore quality representation to Idemili.

For years now, many residents have openly expressed disappointment over the standard of representation the constituency has received. The complaints are no longer hidden. People are tired of excuses, tired of invisibility, and tired of leaders who disappear after elections only to return when another campaign season begins. Idemili deserves better, and party delegates now have the responsibility to make that possible.

There is no doubt that Engr. Eric Anyamene has emerged as the popular choice among a large section of the people. His growing acceptance is not by accident. It came from years of visible community involvement, youth support programmes, educational interventions, and humanitarian efforts through ENAF. Before politics entered the conversation, many already knew him as someone deeply interested in the wellbeing of the people.

What makes him more unique is not just popularity, but capacity. He has the exposure, the network, the charisma, and the voice needed to effectively represent Idemili at the national level. At a time when many constituencies are benefiting from active and strategic representation, Idemili cannot afford to continue reinforcing failure by recycling the same style of politics that has left the people frustrated and underrepresented.

The NDC must therefore resist every form of pressure and sentiment that may distract from the bigger objective. The goal should not simply be winning a primary election. The goal is to present the strongest candidate capable of leading the party to victory in 2027 while also restoring confidence in representation. Delegates must vote with conscience and with the future of Idemili in mind.

Engr. Eric Anyamene represents a new face of leadership in Idemili. A leadership built on visibility, accountability, service, and connection with the people. The party does not need another representative who will spend four years explaining why nothing could be achieved. It needs someone prepared to work, speak, attract opportunities, and defend the interests of Ndi Idemili wherever it matters.

Tomorrow presents NDC with a chance to make history. And history, at this moment, appears to be calling clearly in one direction — Engr. Eric Anyamene.
