Anthony Joshua Knocks Out Jake Paul in Sixth Round of Miami Heavyweight Bout
British-Nigerian heavyweight Anthony Joshua knocked out American boxer Jake Paul in the sixth round of their heavyweight bout on Saturday night in Miami, United States.
The contest, which was scheduled for eight three-minute rounds, ended decisively when Joshua floored Paul for the fourth time with a powerful right hand, sealing his 26th career knockout. The fight was shorter than a standard heavyweight contest but delivered sustained action, with Joshua’s experience and power proving decisive.
Paul, 28, a social media influencer turned professional boxer, surpassed pre-fight expectations by lasting into the later stages of the bout. Despite showing resilience and repeatedly beating the count, he struggled to cope with Joshua’s pressure and punching strength.
Joshua took firm control in the fifth round, sending Paul to the canvas twice before finishing the fight in the sixth round with a barrage of heavy punches that left the referee with no choice but to stop the contest.
Speaking after the fight, Joshua admitted the performance was not perfect but said the outcome was clear. He noted that the fight took longer than anticipated but expressed satisfaction that his right hand ultimately ended the bout.
He also praised Paul’s determination, commending his ability to get back to his feet after multiple knockdowns and describing his effort as courageous.
Joshua said the victory marked a successful return to the ring after a 15-month absence and declared his readiness for tougher challenges. He called on Tyson Fury to face him next, stating that the heavyweight division required a meaningful showdown.
Paul later revealed that he suffered a broken jaw during the fight and said he would take time away from boxing following his second professional defeat. He did not indicate who he plans to face next.
