Aguta Councillor Dies Weeks Before White Wedding; Friends Mourn
The Aguta Local Government Area in Anambra State is mourning the sudden death of Hon. Chuma Okpala, councillor representing Amesi Ward.
Okpala, who had recently celebrated his traditional wedding on Monday, February 17, passed away on Saturday, February 21. The cause of his death has not been disclosed.
Friends and family remember him as a dedicated public servant and a young man who had been preparing for his white wedding, scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026. According to tributes shared online, his groomsmen were already chosen and their attire prepared, highlighting the anticipation surrounding the ceremony.
Residents and colleagues have expressed shock and sadness at the news, offering condolences to his family and praising his commitment to the community.
The sudden loss has left a void in both his family and the wider Aguta community.
