Abia State Unearths Secret Tunnel Used by Kidnappers in Lokpanta

The Abia State government has revealed the discovery of a concealed tunnel utilized by kidnappers to sequester their victims in Lokpanta, Umunneochi council area.

Mr. Ferdinand Ekeoma, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, disclosed that the nefarious tunnel came to light during a raid by the Operation Crush security team. The hidden passage was exposed as the government deployed earth-moving equipment to the location.

Ekeoma emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to combatting criminal elements, stating, “The hidden tunnel was discovered as the state government, led by Governor Alex Otti, deployed earth-moving equipment to clear the area after the criminal cartel succumbed to the superior firepower of the government-backed Operation Crush.”

Governor Otti, during the launch of the Abia State Joint Security Task Force (Operation Crush), had directed security agencies to ensure the apprehension of all criminals, particularly kidnappers causing distress in Umunneochi and other parts of the state. The government is resolute in bringing these criminals to justice and dismantling their criminal infrastructure.
