18-Year-Old Student Arrested for Kidnapping Neighbour’s Son in Shocking Ritual Plot
Masvingo, Zimbabwe – An 18-year-old secondary school student has been arrested for the alleged kidnapping of his 10-year-old neighbour with plans to use the boy in a money ritual.
The victim, Tawana, went missing for three days before police launched an investigation that led to the arrest of Peter, a Form 4 student at Vision Academy. Peter later confessed to the authorities that he had intended to sell the child’s head to clients in Chipinge for ritualistic purposes.
“When I took this child, they had told me to find a head and bring it,” Peter admitted during interrogation, shocking both the police and the local community.
A video circulating online shows the emotional aftermath of the arrest. In the footage, Tawana’s distraught grandmother can be seen crying in the background, while the boy’s mother confronts the suspect, demanding to know why he had targeted her son.
“You wanted to sacrifice my child? Peter, did you really plan to do this? What did Tawana do to you? What did we do to deserve this? You have no shame!” the boy’s mother exclaims, her voice filled with anger and disbelief.
She also scolds her son for ignoring warnings about spending time with older individuals like Peter, saying, “Tawana, you hear what your friend was up to? We always told you not to play with this older boy. Look what he wanted to do—he wanted to get you killed.”
