Chairman of PDP Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) in Lagos State, Engr. Adedeji Doherty, regales former President of Nigeria’s Eighth Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki on his 60th birthday anniversary with fond memories of their shared fellowship in the upscale strata of Lagos business and social circles, welcoming him to the elders club as his age-long friend and dependable political leader.
“You’re welcome to the elders club, my great friend and dependable political leader”, says Doherty who described his long-standing relationship with Saraki as both challenging, inspirational and supportive.
Saraki turns 60 on Monday, December 19, 2023.
In a congratulatory message e-signed on his behalf by Mr. Muka Popoola, the head of DD Media Team, Engr. Doherty says that for every turn of a decade that he had known Saraki in over 30 years his life had always signposted a landmark of achievements, first in business and later in Nigeria’s national politics.
Doherty, who is the immediate past State Chairman of the Lagos PDP, recalls that it was such an inspiring time, when as young businessmen he and Saraki, with other upward mobile young men sat on the pinnacle of the emerging new era of the Lagos business world.
Although he trained as a medical doctor, Doherty recalls that the young Saraki grew up as a consumate businessman, putting his eyes on his late Dad’s vast investments in different business sectors while the old Dr. Olusola Saraki spent time straddling the spheres of national politics across the country.
Joining his late Dad in politics, recalls Doherty, Saraki has had a meteoric rise from being one of the SAs to the Former President of Nigeria Olusegun Obasanjo then a two-term governor of Kwara State to becoming the President of the Nigerian Senate where his late dad was one-time a Senate Leader in the Second Republic.
Doherty says that the future ahead of Saraki from this day of his 60th birthday holds greater promise for him as a quintessential politician, the fortunes of the PDP as Nigeria’s largest political party, and to the greater good of the the Nigerian nation.
As Doherty congratulates Saraki on the occasion of his 60th birthday today, he also offers prayers for God to grant him good health and the needed grace for him to continue his service to the nation.
