An aide of Ebonyi state Governor, Egwu Chidiebere Goodluck has resigned his appointment as the Special Assistant to the governor on Internal Security and Public Utilities (Urban) to the Governor following his recent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In his resignation letter dated 19 November, Goodluck cited ideological differences.
The letter reads: “I wish to appreciate Your Excellency, Chief Engr. David Nweze Umahi, for the opportunity and privilege given to me to serve the people of Ebonyi state and lkwo local government area in various capacities under your administration.
“I wish to have continued working with you, but for the prevailing political cataclysm in the state and other irreconcilable ideological differences and personal considerations.
“Consequently, I hereby respectfully resign my appointment as the Special Assistant on Internal Security and Public Utilities (Urban) with effect from today, the 19th day of November, 2020.
“Sir, my resignation should not be misconstrued as an affront on your person, but in tandem with my principle never to betray my master or anyone else for that matter. As a matter of fact, I still hold you in the highest esteem and wish you the best in your dreams to make Ebonyi and Nigeria great.
“I am also grateful to my colleagues in the State Executive Council for the harmonious working relationship we shared.
“Please, be informed that my official Hyundai car with Reg No: 01A78 EB and Utility Bus with Reg. No: AFK 16 LG that were hitherto in my possession have been handed over to the Secretary to the State Government and Ministry of Internal Security respectively. Thanks for your understanding.”
