The Chairman, Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri has urged the United States Government to urgently ensure a comprehensive probe into the alleged murder of Toyin Salau, a 19year old female activist.
Toyin, was found dead days after she was declared missing in the city of Tallahassee, Florida, United States.
Abike, described the alleged murder as “highly depressing and cruel.”
Toyin, was always very passionate about government policies, fighting racism and issues affecting the society, she had spoken at the “Black Lives Matter” protest in Tallahassee, Florida.
She was last seen on June 6, 2020 after being declared missing by the Tallahassee Police Department.
She was reported to have tweeted that a man had sexually molested her, a couple of hours before she was declared missing.
A search party which lasted for hours was conducted, with volunteers calling on medics to join the search in case she was found hurt.
Toyin Salau, was found dead after about a week of her abduction
