Pastor Leke Adeboye, the son of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has tendered an unreserved apology to pastors of the church for referring to them as ‘goats.’
You would recall that Pastor Leke had taken to his Instagram page in reaction to the action of some pastors of the Church who took to the pulpit to preach in defiance to laid down proceedures that, on first Sundays in the Redeemed Christian Church of God only messages of the General Overseer Pastor Enoch Adeboye would be listened to in all parishes.
He had referred to the RCCG pastors who preached their follow up messages after the G.O. had preached his sermon as ‘goats’.
His action had incurred the wrath of many individuals including church members, who slammed him for calling pastors of the church ‘goats’ for preaching their sermons after his father had finished speaking and preaching.
A three man panel was set up by the church to look into the matter, it was widely reported that Pastor Leke had initially refused to apologise, he has however rescinded his decision and he has apologised for his action, the Instagram post has also being deleted.
The apology reads:
“I wish to use this medium to tender my unreserved apologies on the statement made from my social media handle about some of our esteemed Pastors,”
“The disciplinary measures taken by the mission is well received and this period will be used to reflect and introspect.’
“I wish to crave your indulgence to please forgive my extreme statement which I wish to emphasise was absolutely not intended to insult or malign.”
“I also wish to apologise profusely to the entire leadership and Pastors of our beloved Church who might have been hurt by this statement.”
“I remain humbly yours in God’s love and mercies.”
