In a groundbreaking achievement, the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna proudly announced on Friday the elevation of Lt. Col. Abubakar-Surajo Imam to the esteemed position of Professor of Mechatronics Engineering.
This historic promotion marks a significant milestone as Lt. Col. Abubakar-Surajo Imam becomes the first serving personnel in the annals of the Nigerian Army to attain the distinguished title of professor.
The announcement was made by Brig.-Gen. AM Tukur, the Registrar of the Academy, in a statement released in Kaduna State. Brig.-Gen. Tukur disclosed that the promotion was officially ratified during the NDA Council Meeting held in September, with its effects taking place from October 1, 2023.
The registrar emphasized that the decision by the council underscores the confidence and recognition of Lt. Col. Abubakar-Surajo Imam’s invaluable contributions to the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at the Academy. He commended the new professor for delivering exemplary services and upholding the highest standards of excellence in his field.
