The attention of the Chairman People’s Democratic Party PDP Lagos State Chapter, Engr Adedeji Doherty has been drawn to a press release issued by Mr Segun Adewale (Aeroland).
In the statement, Segun Adewale had warned Engr Doherty, local government chairmen and ward chairmen not to join forces with the former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, in what he termed “an unholy alliance”,
Segun Adewale had also gone further to issue threats to Engr Adedeji Doherty, stating “If anybody including Doherty, follows Fayose to Abuja, it is better for him/them to remain there (Abuja), or follow Fayose back to Ekiti….”
In response, the Lagos State PDP Chairman, stated that Segun Adewale is in no position and has no authority to make categorical statements about Lagos PDP or choose who any member decides to associate or form an alliance with.
He stated that what quantum of love does Adewale who is known for cross-carpeting between parties have for Lagos PDP.
This is a person who just crossed over to PDP in 2011 and was magnanimously given a slot to contest for a Senatorial District Election.
He further stated, that how can a person who hails from Ipoti Ekiti in Ekiti State and who was nursing the ambition of contesting for the Governorship elections in Ekiti State, be in a sincere position to comment on the affairs of Lagos PDP.
Engr Adedeji Doherty, however issued a stern warning to Segun Adewale, stating that he should desist from smear campaigns and should immediately stop the issuance of life threatening statements, or else, he would be made to face the full wrath of the law, as the game of politics does not give anyone the liberty to break the law nor does it give anyone the freedom to exhibit any form of Hooliganism.
The Chairman also took this opportunity to reconfirm to all party members in Lagos that Gov Seyi Makinde without a doubt is the Leader of the Southwest, but himself and the Governor both see things differently when it comes to specific areas, especially as it concerns the management of the party in the Southwest zone.
He further stated that necessary law enforcement agencies including the National Secretariat of the party have been intimated of this development both in Lagos and in Abuja.
