The Governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has been banned from traveling to the United States since 2010 according to an online media, Sahara Reporters.
Sahara Reporters said an official of the Embassy told them that El-Rufai is currently placed on a travel ban due to allegations of graft.
The Kaduna governor is facing a barrage of criticisms from Nigerians following comments he made on Tuesday night when he featured on a programme, “Tuesday Night Live” aired on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), where he threatened to murder foreigners who will attempt to interfere with the elections.
“Those that are calling for anyone to come and intervene in Nigeria, we are waiting for the person that would come and intervene, they would go back in body bags,” the governor said.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Wednesday said it’s reviewing its signatory to the Peace Accord following the inciting comments from El-Rufai.
The United States and the United Kingdom a fortnight ago warned that travel bans await Nigerian officials and individuals that will try to interfere with the elections.
