Bayelsa state governor Seriake Dickson has commissioned an airport completed by his administration in Yenagoa. This is not unexpected after his fallout with former president Goodluck Jonathan in the run up to the last governorship election.
Usually projects of this magnitude are commissioned by serving or past presidents or other dignitaries and projects such as airports are usually named after illustrious sons or daughters of the state or country where they are sited.
This was not the case. Governor Dickson commissioned the airport himself and the sign on the terminal simply read Bayelsa International Airport.
