Former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Charles Soludo has been sworn in as the governor of Anambra State.
He was sworn in alongside his deputy Onyeka Ibezim, in a low-key event that took place at the Anambra State Government House.
It was reported that Governor Soludo wanted the event to be low key, as a circular by the government showed that 50 persons were invited for the event.
There was heavy security presence at the venue, hours before the event as guests began to arrive for the programme. Routine security checks were carried out on them before entering the venue.
You would recall that the former Governor Willie Obiano had handed over some state documents to the new State Governor.
In his farewell speech, Obiano had thanked the state for the privilege to serve, asking for forgiveness from those he might have offended, stating that his intentions were pure even though he might have stepped on some toes.
He however stated that he believes his administration delivered on his campaign promises over the eight year period.
Governor Charles Soludo becomes the fifth civilian Governor of the state.
