The Bayelsa State House of Assembly has approved a request of N2.9 billion loan for Governor Douye Diri.
The Governor had sought the approval of the House to obtain the loan to enable the government to purchase operational vehicles for himself, deputy governor, and other top government functionaries.
The House unanimously approved the loan request after the leader of the House, Monday Buluo-Obolo urged his colleagues to grant the request as it would ensure the smooth running of the government by the new Governor.
The loan according to Obolo has 36 months repayment plan.
