Air operations under Operation Hadin Kai have carried out precision strikes in Borno State, resulting in the destruction of a concealed vehicle and the killing of several armed fighters during a mission on June 7.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that the strikes were conducted during an early morning armed reconnaissance and interdiction mission over the Ali Sherifti area.

Military sources said aircraft operating under the call sign “Guardian” observed a group of eight armed individuals gathered beneath a tree. A separate group of four was later detected near a vehicle hidden under thick vegetation within the same location.

After confirmation of targets, the first strike hit the group of eight, with all members reportedly neutralised.

Subsequent surveillance indicated movement by the second group as they attempted to leave the area. A follow-up strike was then carried out on their position and the concealed vehicle.

The vehicle was destroyed in the second engagement, and no further movement was observed afterward, according to the assessment.

Officials said the mission was part of ongoing air interdiction efforts aimed at limiting insurgent mobility and disrupting operational activity across the North-East.

Military authorities added that coordination between air and ground units continues to support sustained pressure on armed groups operating in the region.
