Stanley Osifo, the main challenger to President Bola Tinubu in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries, has conceded defeat following the nationwide exercise held on Saturday.

In a video circulating online, Osifo said he accepted the outcome of the primaries and would remain loyal to the party despite the result.

He stated that he had no intention of opposing the APC, describing himself as a committed party member who would abide by its decisions.

“As a party man, I will never fight my party. Whatever the outcome of the primaries, I have to abide by the party,” he said.

Osifo also said some individuals were attempting to provoke him into reacting against the APC but insisted he would not take actions capable of undermining the party.

He added that he valued the APC and would not allow political disagreements to push him into acts contrary to its interests.

President Bola Tinubu is expected to receive the APC’s certificate of return and the party flag on Sunday as its presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
