The family of late Benson Obode, a 27-year-old, who was allegedly murdered and his corpse concealed for one month, in 2015 five police officers of the now-disbanded Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, is asking for justice for their late brother and son.
The counsel for the Obode’s family, Abraham Oviawe, told the Judicial Panel of Inquiry, in a petition, that the alleged killers have escaped from prison custody in Benin City, as a result of the recent jailbreaks, perpetrated by hoodlums who attacked the correctional centre during the Endsars protest.
Oviawe told the panel that the five police officers responsible for the dastardly act are currently at large.
The case has been adjourned to Tuesday, November 24.
