The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II has denied sacking one of his aides, Maja Siddin Sarkin Kano, Alhaji Auwalu for his involvement in the grand reception accorded the state’s governor, Abdullahi Ganduje last week.
Reacting to the news making the rounds in Kano, the chief of staff to the Emir, Munir Sanusi Bayero on Sunday said the news was untrue.
“Right now, we are in Lagos; and we have been here since yesterday; and I or anybody cannot confirm to you that such thing as sacking emir’s staff had happened.
“I think the media should be cautious of what they report and its effects on the peaceful coexistence of the society they live” Munir said.
A palace source was quoted to have said Sanusi was enraged by the conduct of Auwalu, who presented the portrait of the late Emir of Kano, His Highness, Sarkin Ado Abdullahi Bayero to Ganduje as his long convoy passed through the Emir’s Palace from Kano airport towards Government House during the grand reception and ordered his sack.
