Nigerians Will Vote a Well-Known Kidnapper with Money than Vote a Capable Candidate with no Money, Edochie Laments

Nigerian actor turned politician, Yul Edochie has lamented the negative influence of money in Nigerian politics. 

Edochie in a tweet sent from his official handle on Thursday, @YulEdochie said before he joined politics he thought he leaders were the problem only to discover that  the people are also part of the problem.

The Actor contested the 2017 gubernatorial election in Anambra state on the platform of the Democratic Peoples Congress (DPC) where he polled a paltry 145 votes. Edochie blamed his poor performance then on lack of funds. He defected to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) shortly after the election and was appointed the Senior Special Adviser to governor Willie Obiano on Creative and Entertainment Media. He later resigned and joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the build up to the 2019 general election.
