The African Action Congress (AAC) on Friday expelled the party’s presidential candidate in the 2019 general election and the detained convener of #RevolutionNow protests, Omoyele Sowore from the party.
The decision to expel Sowore from the party was reached at the ongoing national convention of the party holding at the Rockview hotel in Owerri, the capital of Imo state. Also expelled were 28 National officers of the party.
The party had earlier in May suspended Sowore for a period of six months over anti-party activities and corruption. Sowore who was the national chairman at the time was replaced by Dr. Leonard Ezenwa in acting capacity.
