A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state, Prince Arowosaye Saheed Adeyemi has described the state’s governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde as the new face of public service in Nigeria and an inspiration to the next generation of leaders.
Adeyemi, popularly called Arosad, while reacting to the news of the public declaration of the assets of the governor, in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday, said Makinde with his actions since coming into office has continued to show a clear departure from the disastrous era of the immediate past Abiola Ajimobi -led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration in the state.
“His excellency Seyi Makinde is a gentleman extraordinaire, a man who has come to redefine the culture of public service in the state and country with his extraordinary display of humility, honesty and transparency in running of public office. The governor had repeatedly made it clear that he has come to serve the state not to enrich himself and therefore has nothing to hide. He has even promised to waive his immunity in order to promote the culture of transparency and accountability” he said.
Adeyemi, a former House of Representatives aspirant on the platform of the PDP said the governor’s emergence could not have come at a better time than now that the state urgently need a purposeful and competent leadership. He commended the governor for showing the power of example rather than the brazen example of power that characterized the Ajimobi’s administration.
The statement said Oyo state have a bright future under Makinde and expressed confidence that the governor will fulfill all his campaign promises. He urged all stakeholders to join hands with the governor to take the state to new heights.
