Coincidences, luck, good fortune; call it what you want. I’ve never believed in them. I’ve never believed that things just ‘happen’. That events just take place at the perfect time, in the perfect place, on the perfect day. That everything in any particular moment just lines up, perfectly. You see, I am a strong believer in the idea (well to me it’s more of a fact) that THERE IS A REASON FOR EVERYTHING. The things that may seem insignificant now, are going to place you somewhere in life, and you’re going to realise at that exact moment, that it wasn’t ‘luck’. My belief in that fact stems from experience, as well as my faith. Whilst the strength of my relationship with God has grown, especially as of recently, i’ve learnt that God has a plan for all of us. He would never want us to suffer or struggle, but in order for his plan for us to work, the struggle is a PART OF THE PROCESS that will mould us into the person that he knows we are capable of becoming, and someone that he can recognise. There’s a couple of things I want you guys to take from this post:
THE STRUGGLE IS CRUCIAL
There are going to be times where it seems like everything is going south. Nothing seems to be working out. Grades are bad, bank account isn’t looking too healthy, there’s things going on at home, but STAY CALM. The first thing you should do, is THANK GOD. My Dad taught me that whatever happens, good or bad, you should always thank God, not for the thing that is happening because let’s face it, bad grades and being broke aren’t things to be thankful about. What you are thanking God for is the PERSON THAT YOUR CURRENT SITUATION WILL TURN YOU INTO. Being broke, will FORCE YOU, to go and get that job. If you want to be doing better in uni/school, bad grades will FORCE YOU to rethink the way you’re studying, and what you need to change in order to ensure that you don’t get another bad grade. THE STRUGGLE IS A CRUCIAL PART OF THE PROCESS AND THERE ARE REASONS AS TO WHY YOU GO THROUGH THEM. When you are uncomfortable, and in a place of inconvenience, THAT’S WHERE GOD MOULDS YOU.
ONLY LAZY PEOPLE BELIEVE IN LUCK
Deep it. Have you taken an exam that you BARELY revised for? Didn’t even open the textbook or check the lecture slides, and you’ve managed to get a good grade? Maybe you’re one of those ‘naturally smart’ people, that can just walk into an exam and kill it. But let’s face it, You got lazy with your revision, and got ‘lucky’. Some people may even be satisfied with being lucky, but ‘luck’ eventually runs out, because your ‘natural talent’ alone/God given abilities will only take you so far. No hard work, no persistence, no work ethic, just raw talent. God gave you a gift, whether it’s your ability to run fast, write well, make music, but all you’ve done is open the card that comes with it, so you haven’t even seen the full extent of your gift. If you really wanna move forward in 2019, and see results, you’ve got to WORK HARD ON MASTERING YOUR CRAFT. USE THE GIFTS THAT GOD GAVE YOU AND BELIEVE THAT HE HAS EQUIPPED YOU WITH EVERYTHING THAT YOU NEED.
“Hard work beats talent, when talent fails to work hard.” — Kevin Durant.
January 2019 is over, we’re now already 3 days into February. Your first month of 2019 may have not gone to plan. Things may have happened that you may not have expected, but believe me when I say EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON. You start moving in the right direction now, you may begin to see the reason why some of things that happened in January actually happened, and how relevant they were to your current position.
You’re meant for greater things in 2019. Don’t limit yourself by relying on luck or coincidences.
